A local nonprofit is expanding resources for high school students in need across Southern Nevada.

Project 150 opened its second Las Vegas location near Flamingo Road and McLeod Drive on Wednesday.

The community joined in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to welcome the new building named ‘The Rose.’

“We understand what students need to graduate from high school, and our second location will help us meet those needs,” said Kelli Kristo, executive director of Project 150.

The Engelstad Foundation partnered with the estate of Kirk Kerkorian to provide a $1.3 million donation for the project.

The new development aims to connect services for thousands of homeless, displaced, and disadvantaged students throughout 75 high schools in the valley.

The 7,700-square-foot location features offices, a student education and empowerment center, and warehouse space.

‘The Rose’ is also home to the second location of ‘Betty’s Boutique,’ giving students the chance to shop for free clothing.

To get involved, Project 150 welcomes donations of clothing, school supplies, and hygiene items.
